Ron MaxwellPosition: Chief Executive OfficerWestern College CEO Ron Maxwell’s passion lies in community development through education, making him a perfect role model for the students and staff of the state’s leading small training provider. Along with a Bachelor of Business (Economics) and a Company Directors Diploma, Ron holds a graduate Certificate in Innovation, Education and Training, and with 20 years’ experience in the commercial sector, understands the needs of the regional business sector and the diverse community Western College has served for more than half a century. Ron has served as Senior Vice President of the Dubbo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and serves on various boards and advisory boards including the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (NSW state committee) and the national VET committee. His commitment to seeing the region’s economy grow and prosper is matched only by his devotion to his family – a wonderful wife, and three children – and in Dubbo, he believes he has found the perfect place to live and raise a family. Louise LewisPosition: Executive AssistantWhen Lou returned to the Western College ‘fold’ after a brief hiatus from the education industry in 2008, it was “like coming home”. Lou’s association with the college began in 2005, when she took up the position of Student Liaison Officer – a role that would soon see her appointed Program Co-ordinator. In 2009, Lou re-joined the team in the newly created role of Marketing assistant. A local “through and through”, Lou is passionate Western College’s vision and place in the community and derives great satisfaction from helping people to understand how education can how change their lives.“Education is very important to me and I am excited about the direction Western College is taking and where we are heading.” Lou is a qualified Aesthetician and is currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Business / Diploma of Management Traineeship through Western College. She was also named as a finalist in the "People's Choice: Service with a Smile" category of the 2009 Rhino Outstanding Business Awards. |

David ArmstrongPosition: Business Development OfficerDavid Armstrong has a wealth of experience with more than 30 years both in marketing and in wider business principles. Over the course of his career so far, David has worked for some of the largest multinational advertising agencies in Australia, as well as having run his own advertising agency in Sydney for more than seven years. More recently, David has held positions of General Manager and CEO with high profile companies throughout the Western region. |

This course covers the requirements of the construction industry regulations. Participants can receive 24 CPD points on successful completion of the course. This is also essential training for anyone seeking employment on construction sites as it assists employees to understand legislation and work with employers to meet the obligations of fostering a safer workplace.
Successful completion will lead to a Statement of Attainment for 1 unit from CPC10108 Certificate I in Construction, CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry.

This course teaches the fundamental principles, knowledge and skills to enable the first aider to provide emergency care for injuries and illnesses in the home or the workplace.
Successful completion will result in the issue of a Statement of Attainment for the nationally endorsed unit of competency HLTFA301B Apply First Aid from the HLT Health Training Package.
