ACCESS Program

What is ACCESS?

ACCESS is the Australian Apprenticeship Access Program and it’s a federally funded program (by DEEWR) to encourage jobseekers to take the first step towards an apprenticeship/traineeship.

Is it a full-time course?

ACCESS is not just a training course! It consists of 3 main parts:

Pre-vocational Training

Job-search Training

Job placement Support

The 1st part is fulltime pre-vocational training for about 4-5 weeks.  This gives the participant a Statement of Attainment which can be recognised if they gain an apprenticeship.

The 2nd part of the program is 13 weeks of job searching which consists of many aspects including interview techniques, application writing, cold canvassing, motivation, goal setting, etc.  It is flexible and can vary according to individual needs.

The 3rd part is the component of the ACCESS program, which is Job Placement Support.  If the participant is in the Job Searching phase and obtains employment then they will get support for at least 13 weeks while they get started in their job.

Who is eligible to apply?

In order to apply for the ACCESS program, you must be registered with Centrelink or a Job service provider who will be able to refer you into the program.

For further information on the eligibility criteria, please call Emma Gersbach, our ACCESS co-ordinator on 02 6884 2899.
